I found Amazon had the best price for the Logitech Quick Cam that I purchased to visually communicate with my son and his family living out of state. I am happy with it, but it is a little grainy.NJB
I decided to go back to logitech and ordered this one. I had an old logitech here about 4 years ago and it was awesome. I absolutely LOVE this webcam. It turned out to be outstanding camera especially for the price. This time around I decided to go with one of the HP webcams and it was a bad idea. The video was grainy, the mic was terrible, and one of the key features (face following) barely worked. I love the lens cover and you don't realize how useful it really is until you have it. Overall i've been extremely pleased with this purchase and highly recommend it.
We have a yr. old Great Grandson in Ca. and we decided we wanted the Webcam so he would not forget us in between our occasional visits but we wanted something that would present us with good quality so we wouldn't scare the little fellow.Our Grandson ( the Dad ) said it is excellent, good picture quality with good lighting and good sound quality.This is our first experience with a Webcam and we would recommend it to all.It was a little more expensive than I had thought of paying to begin with but I am glad I paid a little more and got the quality that I did.

The manual "eyelid" is a nice extra feature. It has a long USB cable and you can swivel the camera on the vertical and horizontal axes to adjust the picture angle.
Can do 640x480 at 30 fps in Guvcview, higher resolution at lower fps. Works well with Skype, Ekiga and other programs.
Good performance, easy to use, UVC-compliant, plug and play setup. This web cam sits well on monitors of different thicknesses and also sits well on a desk.
Colors and light adjustments are good. The microphone performs well, though I'm using an old, cheap microphone that performs equally.
A green light turns on when the cam is actively receiving video. This cam is also small, light and attractive.
